We won Mentorloop’s Most Impactful Mentoring Program award!

Our Mentoring Women in Business programme has just won a Mentorloop award.

Winners of the 2024 Mentorloop Mentoring Awards have just been announced and we’re proud to share that our Mentoring Women in Business programme was among the honourees!

We are thrilled to have recently received Mentorloop’s Most Impactful Mentoring Program award. This award recognises impactful mentoring programmes around the world and the dedicated teams that run them.

Our Mentoring Women in Business programme matches women entrepreneur mentees in low and middle income countries with business professional mentors from anywhere in the world. Since launching in 2010, the programme has supported over 12,000 people both as mentees and mentors. The impact has been profound.

Mentoring is definitely beneficial for women entrepreneurs, because it's a jungle out there, man.

The Most Impactful Program award is judged on four key criteria:

Shared Philosophy

To win this award, organisations must strive to have a positive impact on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), both in their mentoring programme and within their own workforce.

As an intersectional feminist, anti-racist organisation, we are committed to championing DEI within our workforce. Guided by feminist principles, we work to create a positive environment for all employees. We even have a DEI working group that is dedicated to promoting inclusion for all.

Our mentees and mentors come from all different backgrounds and experiences. The programme offers them the unique opportunity to connect with someone from another country or culture and broaden their worldviews. We offer ample resources for participants to support them in navigating their cross-cultural mentoring relationships and are available to offer support if mentoring pairs need it.

My mentor opened up my eyes to not only think locally, but globally. She challenged me to go further and look at what other bakeries around the world are doing, so that I can know how my company meets global standards and expectations.

Opportunity and Accessibility

The team behind the programme must also be working to expand the programme’s reach and impact, running multiple cohorts annually.

Each year, we welcome two cohorts of mentees and mentors to the programme. These cohorts run for a year, allowing pairs enough time to form meaningful connections that positively impact the woman entrepreneur’s business.

Last year alone we reached 750 mentees and mentors around the world and laid exciting new plans to scale the programme in our new strategy period!

I found that the Mentoring programme gives so many opportunitires for people. The online resources, the big community that allows everyone to learn from each other. Everyone has a story to share.

Engagement and Satisfaction

Another criteria is that the programme must have excellent engagement and satisfaction from participants.

Mentees and mentors report high satisfaction rates at the end of our programme. In fact 97% of mentees and 94% mentors in 2023 said they were either satisfied or very satisfied with their experience.

What’s more, our Corporate Mentoring Partners, whose employees participate in the programme as mentors, say that they’ve seen huge boosts in employee engagement and satisfaction thanks to the programme.

Colleagues who've taken part in the programme have highly valued their experience. We've never really had any negative feedback, the mentors always gain in professional and personal skills.

Overall Impact

Most importantly, the programme must have had a significant impact within the community it works.

We’ve seen extraordinary transformations in the lives of mentees and mentors alike. Mentees have gone on to scale their businesses, enter new markets, and achieve financial independence, creating a ripple effect of impact in their communities. Whether it’s increasing revenue, expanding their workforce, or developing leadership skills, we consistently see mentees in the programme make incredible strides toward their goals.

Their success is not just theirs alone—it extends to their families, their communities, and the economies they contribute to.

Of mentees graduating in 2023...

99% gained skills

98% progressed towards their own business objectives

93% improved one or more business outcomes (revenue, profit, employees, customers, savings)

Their mentor’s benefitted as well...

94% gained skills

87% gained knowledge of a new culture

73% learned about doing business in a new sector or market

Looking ahead

As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to scaling the Mentoring Women in Business Programme even further. Our goal is to empower more women entrepreneurs to not only succeed in business but to use their success to fuel economic growth and drive social change in their communities. We believe that when women are empowered, entire communities benefit—and we’re committed to continuing this important work to make that vision a reality.

Thank you Mentorloop

The success of our programme would not have been possible without the support of Mentorloop’s services. The platform has made running our programme so much easier and more efficient, which means that we can spend more time offering direct support to mentees and mentors to ensure an exceptional experience for all.
