WE Persist: the famous faces who joined our 2020 Appeal
Including Hillary Rodham Clinton, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Olivia Colman, Indra Nooyi, Cherie Blair CBE KC and Sheryl Sandberg.
With events cancelled, services terminated, travel forbidden, new ways of working fast-tracking us into a digital world and increased care responsibilities, 2020 presented unparalleled challenges for us all. Together, we took action to help others overcome these challenges.
So many of us were striving to keep our businesses afloat, our families protected, our communities safe in the wake of the first impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Imagine then what that means for a woman entrepreneur in a low or middle income country who, on top of this hardship, faces many additional barriers.
The Foundation and its supporters see and hear these women entrepreneurs. We would not let a global pandemic hold them back. By working together, in 2020 we were able to support women entrepreneurs around the world to adapt, innovate, overcome and—most importantly—persist.
