‘Empowering women is one of the smartest investments we can make. That’s why I am delighted to support such a timely and vital campaign, and why I want to invite you to join me.’
We are delighted to announce that Hillary Rodham Clinton has recorded a message in support of our 100,000 Women Campaign.
Since its inception in 2008 we have directly supported over 175,000 women across more than 100 lower and middle income countries, contributing to the global movement to achieve economic gender equality and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Now we are increasing the scale, breadth and impact of our work, to reach 100,000 more women over the next three years.
Delivering our pioneering technology and training in countries including Nigeria, Mexico, Kenya, Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as undertaking significant research and advocacy work, our 100,000 Women Campaign will empower even greater numbers of women; transforming the ecosystem for women business owners around the world.
Committed to achieving economic gender parity, we work to enhance women entrepreneurs access to skills, networks, markets and finance, and press for changes that will help to break down the barriers that women in business face, thus enabling many more women to thrive. But investing in the unfinished business of women in business is not only the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do: If women had the same opportunities to be entrepreneurs as men, global GDP could rise by up to $5 trillion.
In reaching 100,000 more women, our new campaign needs to raise £10 million by 2022.
