Our mentors are passionate about the programme, which has enhanced employee wellness. They develop leadership skills like managing for the future, inclusion and employing a whole company approach. These learnings they then bring back to PayPal and apply to their day jobs.

Our corporate partners nominate members of their teams to serve as mentors to women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries. Mentors and mentees are carefully matched to ensure the strongest mutual benefits. They collaborate across borders through our purpose-built online platform for a year, working to problem-solve, skill-share and achieve the mentee’s business goals.

This enables mentors to:

100% of mentors graduating in 2022 acquired new knowledge or skills

100% were either satisfied or very satisfied with their mentoring relationship

81% of mentees in 2022 improved their business performance

Women the world over have the ambition and potential to run their own lives and enterprises, and to be leaders in commerce, in their communities and nations. But many are prevented from flourishing while inequality holds them back.

As mentors, your team could find themselves working with a shoe designer from Argentina, a software start-up founder from Pakistan, a wine producer from South Africa, a travel agency owner from Kenya, or other ambitious women running their own enterprises. They will support her to develop professional and personal skills, build confidence, overcome business challenges and achieve her goals, potentially having a huge impact on her life.

Mentees go on to grow their businesses, become financially independent and develop as leaders. In turn they are able to improve their lives of their families and communities and contribute to their economies.

Since 2010, our programme has supported nearly 6,000 women in more than 100 countries to achieve their ambitions.
